McKUSICK, Chief Justice.

In reviewing in this appeal a District Court (Portland) order terminating the mother’s parental rights to the minor child Merton R., we again address the question of the sufficiency of the record evidence to support the findings statutorily required for termination. On appeal, the Superior Court (Cumberland County) affirmed. On further appeal to the Law Court, we hold that the record before the District Court did not contain clear and convincing evidence to support one of its necessary findings of fact, namely, that the mother had refused to take responsibility for…
