Defendants Anthem Life Insurance Company (“Anthem”), Wellpoint, Inc. (‘Wellpoint”) and Wellpoint Flexible Benefit Plan appeal the district court’s order reversing Defendants’ denial of long-term disability benefits for Plaintiff Ruth Mitzel (“Mitzel”). Mitzel brought this enforcement action pursuant to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (“ERISA”), 29 U.S.C. § 1001 et seq., after the health plan administrator denied her claim for long-term disability benefits.
