On June 6, 1952, plaintiff (then the United States Radiator Corporation) contracted with the United States Army Corps of Engineers for the production and delivery, in monthly quantities, of approximately 18,000,000 square feet of portable steel airplane landing mat. The total price was approximately $8.5 million, based upon a price of $0.474 per square foot.
