I. Introduction
This securities fraud class action is brought on behalf of all persons (the “Class”) who purchased common stock of Peritus Software Services, Inc. (“Peritus”) during the time period from October 22, 1997 through October 26, 1998 (the “Class Period”) under Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (the “Exchange Act”).
