This case concerns the appealability of a pretrial order denying the state’s request for a jury trial in a criminal action in which the defendant has elected to be tried by the court. On February 1, 1982, the defendant, Robert J. Southard, was charged by information with robbery in the second degree, in violation of General Statutes § 53a-135. On March l, 1982, he entered a plea of not guilty and requested a jury trial.
