Defendant Robert Eugene Ellis appeals his conviction for second-degree burglary in violation of Iowa Code sections 713.1 and 713.3 (1981). He contends: 1) that a list prepared by the victim showing items taken in the burglary and their valuation should not have been admitted in evidence; 2) that certain testimony of a witness should have been excluded as exceeding the scope of the minutes of testimony; 3) that testimony of an additional witness was improperly admitted; and 4) that a mistrial should have been granted when some jurors saw him in shackles outside the…
