WYNN, Judge.

In North Carolina, insurance coverage for damages caused by uninsured and *154underinsured motorists "follows the person, not the vehicle,"1 such that an "owned vehicle" exclusion will not apply if the individuals injured in a collision are the named insureds in the policy.2 Here, we find that the plaintiffs were the "named insureds" and therefore conclude that the "owned vehicle" exclusion does not apply. Accordingly, we affirm the trial court's grant of summary judgment to the plaintiffs.
