On June 19, 1972, Lloyd W. Fickett (respondent) filed a claim with the State Compensation Fund (petitioner) for workmen’s compensation benefits for an injury suffered by him in the course and scope of his employment as an Assistant County Attorney for the Pima County Board of Supervisors (employer). The State Compensation Fund denied the claim by Notice of Claim Status issued April 18, 1973.
