On November 10,1987, and January 14-15, 1988, appellant was tried at McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey, by a general court-martial composed of officers. Contrary to his pleas, he was found guilty of wrongfully using cocaine between April 7 and May 7, 1987, in violation of Article 112a, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC § 912a, and was sentenced to a bad-conduct discharge, confinement for 7 months, total forfeitures, and reduction to paygrade E-l.
