The state appeals a pretrial order suppressing evidence seized from defendant’s fanny pack. We reverse and remand.

On November 16, 1995, hospital security personnel at the Portland Adventist Medical Center contacted Officer Harper for assistance. Harper, a uniformed Portland Police Officer, was in the emergency room at the hospital investigating an unrelated motor vehicle accident.
