This is an action to recover for money expended by the appellant town for furnishing a coffin of the value of $14 for the deceased wife of John Becker, and for groceries of the value of $2 furnished to him or his family, who is alleged to.have been a pauper living in the said town of Holland, who had no legal settlement in said town, but whose legal settlement was in the respondent town of Belgium.
