In this consolidated case, defendants Derrick Lamont Brown (Brown) and Terry Allen Whitaker (Whitaker) each appeal their respective convictions and sentences to state prison for felonies committed in Los Angeles on January 30, 1987. Brown was convicted of robbery (Pen. Code, §211), 1 two counts of assault with a firearm (§ 245, subd. (a)(2)), and attempted robbery (§§ 211 and 664).
