For more than fifteen years prior to his death on May 19, 1909, Alfred P. Roseoe was treasurer of the town of New Haven. During all or part of this time he was town clerk, postmaster, trustee of public money, treasurer of a local church society, treasurer of the county agricultural society, and handled and invested some of the funds of Beeman Academy. He carried on a fire insurance business, and acted as a banker for his neighbors, issuing and cashing checks for their convenience.
