*603Defendant appeals from a judgment of conviction for one count of manslaughter in the first degree with a firearm, ORS 163.118. He assigns error to the trial court's denial of his motion to suppress statements made following his invocation of the right to counsel under Article I, section 12, of the Oregon Constitution. At issue on appeal is whether, after defendant invoked his right to counsel, the interrogating detectives unconstitutionally continued to question him in violation of Article I, section 12.
