Defendant, Miguel Botello, was convicted by a jury of murdering Gerardo Luis Quin-tanilla while working in furtherance of a continuing criminal enterprise, in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 848(e) (1988), and of money laundering, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1956(a)(l)(A)(i) (1988).
