On September 11, 1952, the plaintiff, Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing Company, filed a complaint for patent infringement against four defendants, namely, (1) Technical Tape Corporation,, a corporation of the State of New York (sometimes referred to as the New York corporation); (2) Technical Tape of Illinois, Inc., a corporation of the State of Illinois; (3) Floyd R. Warner, and (4) B. Franklin Collins.
