Appellants are freelance photographers and authors whose photographs and/or written works were originally published in various issues of the National Geographic Magazine. These photographs and writings have now been published in “The Complete National Geographic” (“CNG”), a digital collection of the past issues of the Magazine that offers users various means of searching, viewing, and displaying pages of these issues.
