A petition is presented by the city for writs of certiorari and supersedeas to the circuit court of Davidson county. Condemnation proceedings were instituted by the city under its charter powers for the widening of a street, Eighth avenue, involving the taking of a fifteen-foot strip on which a building occupied by defendant under a lease was partly located.
