On February 6, 1957, as the result of an election held on January 29, 1957, an American Federation of Labor affiliate was displaced, as the bargaining representative of the respondent’s employees at its Lake Wales, Florida, plant, by International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Chauffeurs, Warehousemen and Helpers of America, Citrus, Cannery, Food Processing and Allied Workers, Drivers, Warehousemen and Helpers, Local No. 173, which, for the sake of brevity, will generally be referred to as the union.
