Former employees at a glass and bulb manufacturing plant brought this action against their employer, Philips Electronics North America Corporation (“Philips”), and its Dutch parent company, Koninklijke Philips, N.V. (“KPNV”), for injuries arising from exposure to hazardous chemicals during their employment. The district court dismissed the employees’ claims against KPNV for want of personal jurisdiction, dismissed their claims against Philips as statutorily barred, and declined to award them costs in serving KPNV process.
