This action was brought by George A. Murphey against the 'Western & Southern Fire Insurance Company (now Amazon Fire Insurance Company, by change of name) upon two promissory notes. ' The defendant company was organized in 1909 under the laws of. the State of Oklahoma, with an authorized capital stock of $1,000,000, divided into 100,-000 shares of the par value of $10 each. In that year the plaintiff contracted and agreed to purchase 1,000 shares of said stock, and executed and delivered, his promissory-notes therefor. Subsequently he was elected a member of the board…
