The sole issue raised by this certified appeal is whether an assignee of an arbitration award has a right to intervene in an action to confirm that award brought by a party to the arbitration agreement pursuant to General Statutes § 52-417.1 During the pen*625dency of an arbitration proceeding between the plaintiff, Donald L.
