GILBERTSON, Chief Justice.
[¶ 1.] Twelve female teachers (Teachers) at Western Dakota Technical Institute (WDTI) brought a claim against WDTI and the Rapid City Area School District (School District) under the Equal Pay Act (EPA) and the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. The Teachers brought the claims pursuant to an appeal per SDCL ch 13-46 and, in the alternative, as a direct action in circuit court.
