11 This appeal arises from the convictions and sentence of the defendant for one count of attempted possession of a firearm by a felon and one count of attempted simple escape. The defendant asserts that the trial court erred by denying a Batson challenge and in allowing alleged improper statements during closing and rebuttal arguments. We find that the trial court did not err in finding the State’s race-neutral reasoning for striking the potential juror was valid.
