McGEE, Chief Judge.

*673 Drew Thomas Charleston ("Defendant") appeals from his convictions of discharging a firearm into occupied property and possession of a firearm by a felon. We find no error in part and no plain error in part.

I. Background

The evidence presented at trial tended to show that, on the evening of 11 January 2014, Trevacyia Scales ("Ms. Scales") and her five-year-old daughter were at home. Sandra Knox ("Ms. Knox") lived next door to Ms. Scales and also was at home. Ms. Scales testified that Defendant, Ms. Scales's ex-boyfriend, came by her home that evening, unannounced.…
