Petitioner, Charles McNair, filed a claim in the court of claims for damages against the State highway department for negligence in the maintenance of a State highway.
Charles McNair, his wife and daughter left Detroit for an automobile ride on Sunday, September 1, 1940. The party arrived at Sandusky, then drove to Carsonville and proceeded north on M-51, which was also the temporary route for US-25.
