This is an action on the case by Ida G. Fetters against the West Chicago Street Railroad Company, brought in the superior court of Cook county, to recover damages for personal injuries alleged to have been received through the defendant’s negligence. The jury found the defendant guilty and assessed the plaintiff’s damages at $10,000. The superior court required the plaintiff to remit half of this verdict, whereupon a judgment was, rendered against the defendant for the sum of $5000, which has been affirmed by the Appellate Court.
