The appellee, Frank Minnis, recovered a judgment for $15,000 in the circuit court of Cook counfy against the appellants, Arnold H. Friend and the city of Chicago. The appellee’s cause of action was based upon injuries he received when a city fire truck collided with Friend’s automobile on July 16, 1932, shortly before 9:00 o’clock in the morning, at Wells and Monroe streets, in Chicago. The case was tried before a jury, which returned a verdict on December 22, 1932.
