This was an action to quiet title and to cancel the deed of the record owner of the land. The foundation of plaintiff’s cause of action was adverse possession ; that is, he claimed absolute title of the premises by prescription, by reason of being in continuous, open, notorious, adverse, and hostile possession of the premises for more than 15 years.
