A federal district court jury awarded plaintiff Roland Ferrera $30,000 in damages on his breach of contract claim against defendant Carpionato Corporation. The defendant moved for a directed verdict on two alternative grounds: (1) the statute of frauds was not satisfied; and (2) no reasonable jury could have found that the parties had entered into an employment contract.
