In this diversity personal injury case, Richard A. Rippee and Barbara Rippee, his wife, appeal from the Order and judgment of the district court in which the trial judge granted the renewed motion of Grand Valley Manufacturing Company (“Grand Valley”) for a directed verdict. FED.R.CIV.P. 50(a). Appellants filed this action on March 21, 1983 in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. 1 The district court bifurcated the case and held a jury trial solely on the issue of liability on May 1 and 2, 1984.…
