Mrs. C. A. Evans, as “the widow and dependent of C. A. Evans, deceased,” brought suit in the municipal court of Atlanta, against the National Council Junior Order United American Mechanics (hereinafter referred to as the defendant or the national council), to recover $500 alleged to be due her as a funeral benefit on the death of her husband.
