James Williams was found guilty, by the verdict of a jury in the municipal court, of violating section 982 of the ordinances of the city of Chicago, and a fine of $100 was assessed against him. A motion in arrest of judgment was overruled, and the court ordered that the defendant, in default of paying the fine, work the same out, under the direction of the superintendent of the house of correction, at the rate of fifty cents per day for each day’s work, the term of imprisonment not to exceed six months.
