A 1917 Ford touring car was stolen on November 5, 1917, from Thomas Kelly, in Rockford, and the next day it was brought to Sterling by John Stein and a companion, and the plaintiff in error gave his check, payable to John Stein, for $125 for the car. It was taken by Stein and his companion and Rufus C. Melvin to the farm of plaintiff in error’s father, four miles from Sterling, and from there to the barn of Frank Pascal, in Round Grove, where it was found on November 25, 1917.
