I,. INTRODUCTION

Angela Green took possession of part of her family's land in 1982. The land was probably an oral gift to Green from her grandparents. For the following decade, Green lived on the land during the summer. She gradually built a house, cleared surrounding land, *18cultivated a garden and fruit trees, and raised poultry. In 1994 her grandparents sold their interest in the land to Allen Vezey. Green brought suit claiming that she had gained title by adverse possession to the house and surrounding land.
