Richard C. Barnes appeals from an order of the district court for Pierce County denying his motion for postconviction relief after an evidentiary hearing. We find no error and affirm.

I. BACKGROUND

On March 8, 1994, Barnes pled guilty to one count of first degree murder and one count of use of a weapon to commit a felony. Pursuant to a plea agreement, the State did not offer evidence of aggravating circumstances at sentencing, and Barnes was sentenced to life imprisonment on the murder conviction on April 14, 1994.
