Jerrold A. McLeod is serving a life sentence on a plea-based conviction of first degree murder. He appeals from an order of the district court for Lancaster County denying his motion for postconviction relief without an evidentiary hearing. We find no error and affirm.

I. BACKGROUND

On April 14, 1999, McLeod pled no contest to an amended information charging him with first degree murder. McLeod was 17 years old on the date of sentencing. Prior to accepting the plea, the district court questioned McLeod in order to determine whether his plea was knowingly, voluntarily, and intentionally made.…
