SULLIVAN, Chief Judge:

On April 14, 1989, appellant was tried by a general court-martial composed of a military judge sitting alone at Clark Air Base, Republic of the Philippines. Pursuant to his pleas, he was found guilty of one specification each of violating paragraphs 2r and 3h, Enclosure 6, USCINCPACREPPHI-LINST 4066.7R (April 4, 1986), in contravention of Article 92, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC § 892. Also, pursuant to his pleas, he was found guilty of disposition of his family’s passports contrary to 18 USC § 1544, a violation of Art. 134, UCMJ, 10 USC § 934. He was…
