This case raises the question whether the protection of Section 14 of the Veterans’ Preference Act, 5 U.S.C.A. ■§ 863, 1 is available to a veteran charged with political activity under the Hatch Act, 5 U.S.C.A. § 118i.
Plaintiff-appellant, a veteran preference eligible employed in the classified civil service in the Post Office Department, brought suit in the District Court to enjoin the Civil Service Commission and the Postmaster General from discharging him on charges of having engaged in political activities in violation of the Hatch Act.
