Defendants Sklaroff, 1 Goldstein and Leppo were charged in a nine count indictment in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida with violating 18 U.S.C. § 1952 2 through the use of interstate telephones to promote, facilitate, or carry on unlawful gambling activity contrary to the laws of Florida and of the United States. The Government introduced evidence to establish that between June 13, 1973 and July 8, 1973, the defendants made interstate telephone calls to carry on unlawful gambling activity.
