Abraham Sokol (“Sokol”) filed a voluntary Chapter 7 petition on January 13, 1994. On April 22, 1994, the State of New York (“State”) commenced an adversary proceeding under 11 U.S.C. § 523 to determine the dischargeability of a debt up to $5 million that Sokol allegedly owes to the State stemming from a state court conviction for grand larceny in the second degree.
