Appellant, Danny Johnson, was convicted of second-degree murder in the death of Michael Sammons, and sentenced to twenty years in the Arkansas Department of Correction. The sentence included a fine of $15,000.00.

He appealed to the court of appeals, contending first that the State failed to present sufficient evidence to establish the victim’s identity, and second that the trial court committed error in denying his motion to suppress his statement.
