Plaintiffs Andrew and Jean Gottlieb (the “Gottliebs”) appeal from so much of a final judgment of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York as dismissed their claims under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 (1994) for compensatory and punitive damages against defendants County of Orange and Orange County Department of Social Services (collectively the “County”) and two County employees, Esther Coppola and Linda E.
