The parties in this case dispute the continued validity of an oil and gas lease covering land in Williams County, North Dakota. Northern Oil and Gas, Inc., (“Northern Oil”) and Limsco Limited Partnership (“Limsco”) sought judgment declaring that the lease remained valid and quieting title in their respective interests in the lease. Carol Kay Moen and Orville A. Moen (collectively, “the Moens”) sought declaratory judgment finding that the lease had expired as to the disputed land.
