Mud Creek Drainage District was organized under the Levee act in 1899. The lands in the district embrace considerable area and lie partly in Morgan county and partly in Cass county. The district is approximately three times as long east and west as it is wide north and south. Indian creek flows northwesterly along the northeast boundary to and past the northwest corner of the district. Mud creek enters the district near the southeast corner and flows northwesterly, emptying into Indian creek at the northwest corner of the district.
