MEMORANDUM OPINION
KISER, District Judge.
This is a patent infringement action involving a dispute over U.S. Patent No. 4,497,520 as narrowed by reexamination certificate B1 4,497,520 (collectively the ’520 patent). After a two week trial, the jury returned a verdict for the plaintiffs. The defendant now moves for a judgment notwithstanding the verdict (JNOV) on the issue of lost profits, willful infringement, the “best mode” defense, and on the issue of infringement under the doctrine of equivalents.
