This is an automobile products liability case. On October 29, 1982, plaintiff, who had been severely injured in an automobile accident, filed suit in Wayne County Circuit Court against Subaru of America (Subaru), a foreign corporation which imported the automobile in which plaintiff was a passenger when she was injured, Fuji Heavy Industries, Ltd.
