For less than a year, Defendant Fausto Agüero Alvarado worked as an undercover confidential informant (“Cl”) for the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (“DEA”) in Central America. Formalizing this role, he signed written agreements with federal DEA agents that set out the parameters of his duties, and thereafter assisted these agents with investigations into drug and weapons trafficking operations.
