.Informations in the nature of quo warranto. These proceedings are brought to test the right of the members of the boards of water commissioners, and of sewer commissioners, of the city of Detroit, to continue to hold their respective offices after the talcing effect of the act establishing a board of public works; and the questions raised, relate to the validity of said act.

We now proceed to dispose of the cases of quo warranto against the members of the board of water commissioners, and those of the board of sewer commissioners, of the city *53of Detroit. The members of these boards are called upon to show by what authority they claim and continue to hold and exercise their offices, after the act “To establish a board of public works in and for the city of Detroit” had taken effect on the first’ Monday of August, 1871, and after the members of this new board had taken the oath of office and qualified.
