The accident which generated this litigation occurred when Richard Metz sustained severe injuries in a collision of his motorcycle with an automobile driven by Comer Hamlin. Hamlin had leased the automobile from National Auto Leasing Corporation (hereafter National). Universal Underwriters Insurance Company (hereafter Universal) insured all cars owned by National.
